Applying To Medical School

Failing The Personal Statement

So I’m sat here trying to write my personal statement and not unexpected, I have writer’s block. I mean why is it so difficult? What’s the big deal? It’s only probably one of the most important things I’ll ever write. It’s only what determines whether I’ll be offered a place at medical school and by extension become a doctor. What do I include and what should I leave out?

And instead of writing I find myself procrastinating. Watching a movie, messaging my friends, watching daylight fade away, doing anything and everything else because I’d rather do just about anything else than write this personal statement. It’s 47 lines! Why is this so hard?
